R50/53 MINI Social Bookmarks
MINI Social Bookmarks
According to all the demographic surveys, Mini owners are internet savvy, technology literates who are interested in cutting edge ideas. A relatively recent on-line application is what is known as "social bookmarking" and has been popularized by the site http://del.icio.us
For those of you unfamiliar with it, the way the site works is you collect website bookmarks under your own account and then you supply descriptive tags for them. Other users who are looking for web sites or information in particular subject areas use the tags to find lists of sites (submitted and tagged by others) that match the tags. This collabrative method of cataloguing similar sites is known as "social bookmarking".
For a while now, I have been collecting Mini Cooper sites. You can see what I found by viewing:
http://del.icio.us/tag/mini+cooper
I have collected a few MINI forum sites which you can see if you look at:
http://del.icio.us/tag/mini+cooper+forums
And a few parts sites at:
http://del.icio.us/tag/mini+cooper+parts
This is a way to create a library of MINI sites that is updated and maintained by everyone who is interested rather than a single person.
You can then go, create your own del.icio.us account and add your own bookmarks and tags for your favourite MINI sites.
It's also a pretty cool way to keep your personal bookmarks and find similar ones submitted by others.
