Coin-Op carwash near Wrigleyville???

Hello folks, I am going to be leaving town for a couple of weeks- so I thought I would give the MCS a good wash and throw the car cover on her  Nothing like a shiny clean Mini.

Does anyone know of a good coin-op (or, at MINImum a good touchless?) near Wrigleyville (or even a few miles away?). I've seen a few "touch" car washes around here. But I refuse to let her get violated by plastic bristles!

Nevermind, I find one- near Addison on Western Ave. They said "no bucket washing". Well, I had to break the rules :-)

There's one on Fullerton just West of Elston/Damen on the South side of the street. (just east of "Our Lady of the Underpass" :-P)

No bucket washing there either, but if there's no one waiting then who cares, right?

At "my" car wash, I always use the bucket for suds, but also I drop in some quarters to use their sprayers for wetting and rinsing my MINI. That way I'm sorta using their machines for some part of the process.

I'm lucky in that this particular car wash also has a working faucet that I can use to fill a bucket with. I used to bring gallon jugs of water for this, but no more!!

Funny (and pathetic) that the car wash you visited has a sign saying "no bucket washing." Do they know nothing about washing cars?!?!?! Besides, the sudsing part of a MINI bath isn't what takes time, imo...it's the drying!

The owners put up signs like that because of the inconsiderate jerkoffs who bucket wash while there is a line of cars behind them, thus angering their customers and depriving them of revenue.

I don't think anyone really minds people who bucket wash their cars if the place isn't busy and they pay to use the facility.
