Tires for Stock classes

I have Kumho V710s back ordered in 215/40/16. In the meantime I'm trying to find something else to autocross on. Alex says the Ecsta V700s need to be shaved and heat cycled or they chunk (and I've had friends who have had them chunk even when shaved and heat cycled) and that Tire Rack has none available for shaving. I REALLY did NOT like the 04 Hoosiers that I used last year on a Miata for MANY reasons. Primarily because they never stuck and they wore out quickly. For all they cost I don't want to use them again unless I have no other recourse.

I understand that Hoosier's coming out with an 05, but who knows when.

Any other tire suggestions for stock auto-x?

I can run in a street tire class, any recommendations for "street tire class" tires? Are Falken Azenis still the best or have they been superceded by something else?

I ran v700's last year, flipped them 33 runs, could have waited a little longer to do so. After around 55 runs the grip started going at 70 runs I junked them, no cords or chunks. Keep them sprayed down if you are running on concrete 60 seconds or longer courses.

This year I'm using Rs304's, have 27 runs. I am alternating them front to rear. I'll probably do one more local match, 5 runs and flip them right before the Atwater tour. Wear has been much better then the A3so4 equipped minis that have been cording sets with 2 drivers at 1 tour (22 runs).

Anyone know if the 05s have been available and, if so, any feedback on how they perform?

Chiles ran the S05's in Houston, and I'll be running them in Atlanta this coming weekend.
Here's the short story: from what I've experienced and what I've heard, the S05 is stickier than before at the sacrifice of heat resistance and durability. We'll see this weekend with the 4 run back-to-back format of a Pro Solo.

The R3S04 is a better tire now than many had last year. I easily corded a set before they redid them. Now, I'm still running on a set from late last year, used for the Pro Finale, and they've been MUCH better.
It's not going to run with the V710, but will handle heat better. But, the V710, when treated nicely, should last longer.
