PossiblyTaking On 2nd Job To Get Mini

Ok folks, I've heard back from IPD's Mounted Division and I have my job interview for the position as a stablemaster on Thursday... This job alone would be a pay cut, but I would be working 8-4:30 there which means that I could actually still keep my midnight shift job here at Plainfield and have two forms of income. I am thinking that if I work out a budget that allows me to live on the pay from IPD and just a small bit of the Plainfield pay then i could easily build up a nice down payment in a savings torward my Mini.... What do you think? It would mean that I would have to live in Marion Co. but that's not too much of an issue, it's only half an hour's drive to Plainfield from Joe's condo... My schedule would be tight at times but with the way my days rotate on/off here at Plainfield there is a chance that on a few days I would only have to work at one job.... I think I could pull it in the name of getting a Mini and living quite comfortably don't you? It would also mean I would be able to have a 'safety net' income in case something bad were to happen... I would be hired on in around a month after the interviews this week.. Wish me luck, I would love this to become a reality.

Basicly my schedule would look like this on a day when I would have to work both jobs.....
11:00pm-7:00am-Working Plainfield Dispatch
7:00am- Change clothes and go to stables
8:00am-4:30pm- Working at stables
4:30pm-9:45pm-Go home, Sleep
9:45-10:30-shower and go back to Plainfield Disapatch
11:00-Begin Plainfield shift

That kind of schedule would suck.

One of those would have to be, at a minimum, part-time for me.

With that kind of schedule, you'll have to sleep in the MINI to make it worth it. Seriously, your personal life would be over for the duration of both jobs. I couldn't handle it but I need my sleep and time off to gather myself and to enjoy life. What does Joe think (he might like it if you let him borrow the MINI while you are at work)?

Tiffany: Here is my schedule.

11:00 (2300) go to FedEx. Work there untill 3:30-4:400 am. 4:40 arive at MASCO warehouse. 6:00 to 2:00 work at MASCO. 2:00-2:45 drive back to Avon. Sleep from 3:00 (1500) untill 8:30 (2030)

I get some sleep in my car when the MASCO employees aren't blasting crap music before work. I see KidDiff1 and KidDiff2 for maybe 15 minutes in the afternoon and I tuck them into bed at about 8:30 pm. I get to talk with MrsDiff for a couple of hours and do the internet thingy between 9:00 and 11:00 (2100 and 2300)

Two jobs is a hecktic schedule. No time for anything in your life. I know that you and bf aren't married and don't have kids. But you have to find time for your bf in that day. A relationship is not just a date and a MINI drive on the weekend.

I want a MINI just as bad as you do. But other things are more important in my life right now. Namely keeping my family in our appartment and keeping them insured. The used MINI is a double edged sword. Yes it is a MINI but it is out of the free maintenance period and unless it is a 02-03 you will most likely be paying 90-95% new car purchase price!

Well I guess I should've made it more clear that this won't be a long long long term deal, I would be doing this to build up a nice chunk of change to put as a down payment to hopefully lower my monthly payments so that I could afford them on only one income after a while. I've talked to Joe about the time awy from eachother, it would be hard, a true test that's for sure but I think that we've been creative so far with our schedules never mixing well in finding ways to be together so how much harder woudl it be with this ya know... I dunno, I am just in need of a car since mine is about to die on me and I'm so depressed over not having the one thing I want right now.

WOW, that schedule bites! The Mini is worth it though but you MUST find time in your schedule to drive it and I mean at least 8 hours a day of quality Mini time!!!

I just feel like I have to at least try, I want one so badly... But as I've told a good friend of mine I would have to also be willing to accept that it may not work for me and if it was hurting my relationship with joe or was hurting me health-wise then I'd have to back out....
