R60 Rear end clicking. Follows vehicle speed
Rear end clicking. Follows vehicle speed
2013 all4 rear clicking/thumping noise. Follows vehicle speed. Gets a bit louder under braking, whether service brakes or emergency brake. Doesn't change in curves or turns. Seems to be coming from the rear and maybe middle of the car. Wife riding in back says it's right rear.
Doesn't seem to be any play in the cv joints, and the boots are dry. Also doesn't seem to be any up/down or side to side play that would indicate a wheel bearing. No evidence of rotor, pad or caliper damage.
Anyone dealt with this before?

I would spin the wheels to feel if there is any grittyness, pop out the CV and see if the feeling is still there. That should show you whether its the CV or the Hub. Check the driveline too while your down there.
I have spun the wheels, and didn't feel any grittyness, and also didn't hear the sound, but I don't think I can spin them fast enough for that. Popping out a CV on this car is not trivial. I can do the work, but I was really hoping someone has heard the same sound on their car and could direct me further. Thanks for the input though.
