SCHIRRA MOTORING MINI JCW GP #1855– TEST REPORT TRANSLATION
Title: ROCKENHEIM
Subheading: The nearly 50,000-euro conversion morphs the MINI JCW GP from Arved Solution into a supercar-slayer. Almost casually, the super MINI also claims the front-wheel-drive lap record at Hockenheim.

Section 1 – Introduction:
Hairpin. Minimum speed. Maximum steering angle. Welcome to Hockenheim. Anyone who dares to push the limits of the MINI GP3 here needs to have it under control – especially when it’s a 50,000-euro one-off development car with a full motorsport setup. MINI specialist and 40-year-old workshop owner Joachim Schirra doesn't just build project cars; he crafts high-performance machines. With his modified MINI John Cooper Works GP, Schirra Motoring has set a new benchmark: 1:56.5 minutes – the new front-wheel-drive record on the GP circuit.
Section 2 – Technical Modifications:
While the GP series car is already impressive out of the box, GP3 #1855 elevates everything. The track tool weighs just 1,180 kilograms (Full tank) thanks to weight-saving measures such as Makrolon windows and the removal of insulation. The aerodynamics have been refined, and 225/45 R17 semi-slicks are mounted on 7,5x17 wheels.
For suspension uses Öhlins TTX.) , Recaro seats, and custom differential lock Drexler enhance driving precision.
Section 3 – Track Performance:
The GP3 #1855 is razor-sharp and reacts with surgical precision. The newly set lap time of 1:56.5 minutes places it ahead of competitors like the Renault Megane RS Trophy and Honda Civic Type R.
Thanks to a revised rear axle with 1.5 degrees of camber and 2.2 degrees at the front, the MINI handles like it's on rails. Steering feedback is precise; load changes are predictable. In the 24H test stint, the setup proved reliable and quick.
Top 10 FWD Lap Times – Hockenheim GP:
1:56.5 – Schirra Motoring MINI JCW GP
1:57.9 – Renault Megane RS Trophy
1:59.2 – Hyundai i30 N Project C
...
** Summary:**
Test Driver Quote:
"I’ve rarely driven such a perfectly balanced and communicative front-wheel-drive car on the limit."

How have they spent 50k….on handling as I cannot see any more power ( perhaps not allowed in class)
with the named modifications I’m not even halfway there, or is it a lot of spanner and testing/set-up time in that figure ?
