Brake Bleed Question

We have a 2012 Base Model Mini Cooper Hardtop and I'm getting ready to replace the front brake and rotors. I've done this job many times and wanted to do my research before jumping into this project. I also would like to bleed the front brakes as well and I've read all kinds of information about this for these cars. Can I get away with having someone in the driver seat pumping the brakes (the old school way) and bleeding them that way or do I need the tool to do this part.
Thanks for the help.

Better to use the tool. And while youre at it, replace the fluids too. Not sure if Autozone or other retailers loan the bleeder.

Just in case you didnt know, the rear calipers require a twist caliper compressor

Good to know, luckily I have one of those tools already.
Thank you

Yes you can "old school" bleed the brakes ... it just takes longer and requires two people. Motive sells a nice pressure bleeder, and since you're supposed to flush the brake fluid every 2 years, you'll be using it again.
