Installing 2014 motor in 2012 countryman

Hey I recently got back on my project of installing the newer motor in my 2012 countryman sall4 and have read up on needing the harness and ecu which I have to work with the Bosh pump but will need to clone the ecu to work with the 2012 electronics. I have read up on simulate formuls one done with a 2011 to 2014 on the cooper s. I plan to get a ktag unit to clone the ecu. I should also add I’ve never done this and want to make this work but have some people telling me it’s really complicated.

Depending on the build date of your Countryman, you might not need anything... The fuel pump changeover was roughly March 2012 build.

It’s a tiny chance but i doubt it the ecu that im seeing is smaller then the one for this motor. I am mainly trying to figure out if I can clone the eeprom from the 2012 ecu to 2014 one or if I used all the 2014 electronics how much of harder or possible that is.
