R56 Oil Wicking Issue Help

I have a 2011 Mini Cooper S with the N18 Engine. The R56 model. I am currently facing the infamous oil pressure solenoid wiring harness oil wicking issue. The car still runs and drives but after a while it will start running rough. I have a few questions about course of action to fix this.

1. I read the Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) and understand how to troubleshoot, be seeing how far up the harness the oil has wicked, but if it has gotten to my DME, I will need to replace the DME. What are the procedures to reprogram the component or can I just swap it?

2. If my DME and wiring harness is fine, I will install the relocation kit for the oil pressure solenoid. Does this kit solder into the existing harness or does it plug and play?

3. Should I also replace the solenoid itself? From my understanding the issue is just oil in the harness not a problem with the sensor itself.

Thank you for any advise!

Hello,

All the info is here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-check-it.html

New DME and flash at MINI dealer.

Its a replacement for the harness.

Yep you can di it yourself. Clean off all the oil on the harness.

Follow up question

Thank you for your help, I think I have a pretty good understanding of what I need to do now. One other questions, should I replace the oil pressure solenoid or just replace the affected wiring harness and install the relocation kit? From my understanding the solenoid still works, the problem is that oil is seeping into the harness. Is there a need to replace the solenoid?
