R60 0W-30 vs 5W-30 in a 2016 R60 N18 Countryman
0W-30 vs 5W-30 in a 2016 R60 N18 Countryman
Why is 0W-30 (BMW LL-01 FE ACEA A5/B5) ONLY recommended in the R60 2016 mini Countryman with the N16 and N18 engines?
All other Mini years with the N12,N14, N16 and N18 engines 5w-30 (BMW LL-01 ACEA A3/B4) is recommended.
I assumed it was just for fuel economy ratings for production during that last year. I have been using 0w-30 all this time and now that it is $13 /L I decided it was time to use an affordable BMW approved 5w-30 at $6 /qt.
I am in NYC and the car has 39k and heated garage kept. Never ever started in sub –freezing temps.
