R50/53 New gps unit need to be coded ?

New gps unit need to be coded ?

Just wondering befor I go out n remove my seat ect only to find it won't work.. but , does the gps underseat unit , when replaced , does it need to be coded to the car or can I just plop in a replacement and have it function ?

Welcome. I have far too experience with those drives… e46 came with a dead one, and I’m on the second replacement in it, and mine had a bad dvd laser in Route 66.


if you check and it isn’t on 4/100 software yet, (aka v32) I still have a downloadable unmolested copy from the good old days.
