F60 Heater issues
Heater issues
Ok, got a countryman F60 and the heater seems to be very temperamental at times. If I turn up the heater to max it won't throw any heat. All the fans are working. However, if I give the car some beans the heating starts to kick in. I have recently Been having a temperature warning pop up every now and then but according to the car everything is OK? Any help would be appreciated?
Can you describe what you mean by "...having a temperature warning...everything is OK?" What is the warning? You have a warning, but according to the car everything is ok? Kind of a contradiction.
What is your coolant level like in the overflow tank? Is it at the appropriate level marks when cold and hot? In other vehicles I've experienced heat working when heavy on the throttle but not other times, and was due to low coolant.

Not checked coolant level yet as at work nightshift but will first thing in morning.
Driving along and an error message popped up briefly and went away just as quick, quicthing to do with engine temp. Cycled through on board status screen and temp reading was showing as ok with indicator in middle of blue/red areas. Not a contradiction but I can only say what it is showing. Once coolant checked I will come back with a response. Thanks
When the engine is cold the level should be at or above the minimum. When hot, it should be under the maximum.
If yours looks empty, and you're having issues with heat, you're probably low. Top it off and keep a sheet of cardboard underneath for a few days to see if/where it's leaking.
