Engine swaps

Hi...after rebuild my cooper n12b16a twice now I'm fed up of the reliability of this engine ...does anyone know of some engine swaps for other engines that have been done?....open to ideas but looking for around the 150 to 200bhp region.....car is immaculate and nice to drive when it works but problem after problem has left me hating the engine....rest if the car can't fault
thanks in advance😁👍

What year is your car, and where do you live? How good are your fabrication skills?

This guy did a turbo K swap:

I would think you'd need a great understanding of the electrical system in the Mini, along with a great knowledge of the K-series sensor workings just to make sure everything works when you're done.

So sorry to hear ! If I understand correctly this is the non turbo 1.6 engine. What were done on the rebuilds and how many miles between the 2. While these engines have some issues - I'd think a good rebuild can address most of them ( oil pressure, fuel pressure, timing chain .. ) and wonder on why the failure(s)

Engine swap would be done more for love and fun .. BTDT ( but not in a Mini )

I'm curious why you are having so many problems with the motor. When you say rebuild, can you provide details what was performed and replaced?

A motor swap would be way more complicated than rebuilding your motor. Like gauss66 said, an engine swap with a completely different motor would be for the passion, love, fun, and challenge of the project.
