Hello all! Very excited to be here, recently purchased my first Mini as both a DD and a little bit of a project. Car has had extensive repairs by the original importer to get it to pass inspections and has only 85,000km (~53,000 miles). I've got big plans for this little car and intend to be quite active here in the forum as I learn more about working on and playing with my Mini. This will be my first project car so I have a lot to learn!
Here's the plan so far (I'm open to ideas and input):
- Braided brake lines (current original brake lines are stiff and I want to change them before they start to crack)
- supercharger service and intercooler boot replacement
- Koni FSD suspension upgrade
- Alta CAI- debating supercharger pulley as well, would love to hear thoughts on that.
- possibly doing exhaust at a later date but my city has very firm laws on aftermarket exhaust systems and noise- exterior chrome delete
- 16" or 17" enkei wheels (likely the black EDR9s but not fully decided yet)
- roof wrap (not a fan of the white)
- underglow
- new headliner- remove rear seats
The car still has the original radio, so that will be getting changed out this weekend, I've got an amp and sub a friend has offered to sell to me so that will possibly get done this weekend as well.
If you've done any of the things listed above I'd be happy to hear any pointers you have, I'll be watching ModMini's videos for the mechanical work.
