ECS has the gasket, Mini uses a sealer better or worse?

I installed the gasket.

I went with sealant. Permatex Ultra Black. Seems to work fine.

Just replaced mine with a gasket. Big fan of Mahle. $25.00 at Rock Auto.

I ended up just using a gasket. Easy job for the most part. I went to pull out my down pipe to just have a little more room and I had the top stud break off in the exhaust housing of the turbo 🙃. It’s been off people multiple time with no issue and today it decided to break, so now I have to hopefully get the other two nuts off to hopefully weld a nut to stud (if there is enough sticking out). Always something ha
