clear bra for S advice please

I'd like to get an X-Pel product for my 05 S. Has anyone used a place they can recommend that I can have it installed? Are their products heavier/different from the ones that Mini sells? They are more expensive than the Mini's. (Xpel - $190 covers hood, mirror, and grill), Mini - $140 bonnet & mirror kit.

Thanks for any advice,
keith

The Xpel website has a link to find a local installer. To become a recognized installer, one has to invest time and money to go to their training session (in Texas, I think). Ideally, ask if they've done a Mini before, as it's one of the more difficult cars to do. My experience was that the installer came to my house and did it here.

Xpel uses the 3M material, don't know if Mini uses the same or not. Since we'er driving our Mini through the winter with all the junk on the road, I'm glad we had it done. Looks fantastic after 6 months and all types of weather.

Get Armourfend, much better...

I highly recommend the Armourfend clear bra product. Much thicker 3M material (Yet it looks same as X-Pel, etc), greater area coverage and generally better priced than the competition.

This is what I am getting installed as soon as I take delivery of my '05 MCS.

I cant recommend anyone near disneyworld but I do highly recommend the clear bra. I have had it on mine for almost 2 years and is still looking great. No problems and I know it has saved my paint many many times.

I went to the web site but it's a little hard to navigate and find the product I need. Plus they don't sell directly to the public. Where/who did you get the bra from? Did they install or do you have to find an installer?

Thanks for the help. Still researching.

Jack,
Thanks for the advice. I did find an installer for the X-Pel product but it's a lot more money than the Mini brand. Don't know if it's a better product or not?
Do want to get one for protection of the hood and such.

Thanks again,
keith

Is the X-Pel a lot more than the MINI brand? Does the MINI brand include installation cost? I got mine done (X-Pel Installer) for $475 total. That includes Hood, Bumper, Side Mirrors, All 3 sets of lights, (Headlight, Parking, and Fogs)

You may try contacting the Florida Armourfend representative.

The phone number is: (954)394-8250

http://www.armorgloveflorida.com/

Click on "MINI Cooper" for pricing on the different 3M pieces. Great people to work with.
They come to you (or viceversa) and they do the installation themselves. Takes about 2 to 3 hours give or take.

Best of luck.

Here is the national website. It has a listing of local dealers and installers in multiple States.

Same here - can't recommend it enough! Worth every penny! JerseyGirl installed the bra on her MCS herself. It IS a difficult install (much swearing involved...). I bought my Jetta a few months prior, so I bought a bra for it car and she practiced on the less convoluted Jetta first. She did end up redoing one of the pieces on the MINI, but it was still cheaper than paying for the installation labor.
