I had headlight protectors on my previous Miata for four years w/o any problem. On my new one the clear bra installer installed clear bra material on the headlights and said that anything thicker would cause them to overheat. The clearbra installer that MINI of Nashville uses won't even install the clearbra material and says that to do so would burn out the lamps prematurely. Anyone heard about any real life experiences to confirm or deny this? Thanks.

 

um...Ive been using the Xpel headlamp protector since Fall of 2003...

I am installing the XPel protection on all my lights. Had XPel on my Cooper for two years, no problems.
