Auto transmission on R57 Justa

Is it even worth looking at a 2009 Justa with an automatic transmission? I had a 2009 R57 Justa with a manual but I've come across the same car but with an auto tranny.

Looking for some serious input from those who may have owned one. I'm not looking for a road burner as driving around with the top down in East Tennessee and just enjoying the drive is all I'm looking for.

I'm very happy with the japanese (made by Aisin) AT in my LCI Justa with the N16 engine. I wouldn't want to miss it, neither within rural areas nor beyond. Cruise control in combination with the AT is able to shift up and down through all gears and is not limited by the rpm range of the currently selected gear like when combined with an MT. If well maintained (don't believe the "lifetime" ******** regarding the ATF), the added comfort is well worth the added consumption (imho).

But none of the above must have any relevance to your priorities. What do you want to know?

Just was wondering how much of a dog the Justa is with an auto. The R57 Justa I had was a blast to drive but when it came to hills or accelerating quickly...eh.

Someone else's opinion on that matter will be just that: someone else's. If comparing performance numbers does not give you the answers you want then how will someone else's subjective opinion?

Just keep an eye open for an AT and if a suitable one comes up close enough to you simply try it out. That is unless you want to buy a non-driving one, of course.

And FWIW: I wouldn't want to trade mine for neither a manual nor an S or JCW (due to their additional, costly failure risks) with an AT.

I have a 2008 Justa with AT. Still a lot of fun to drive. Wife and I had a 200 mile road trip today. Paddle shifters + sport mode is a great combination for spirited driving. I've done an AT drain and fill two times so far and I'm at 73,000 miles. The Aisin transmissions are solid; few reports of problems on this website. I believe the 2009's still have paddle shifters; go and try one out but make sure you can see the service history before you buy. That's important!
