Need help and advice, coolant system
So I recently bought my second Mini, 2017 Clubman S All 4. During a long road trip I got a drivetrain malfunction warning. Got it to the shop and we got that squared away, but they noticed that my coolant levels were very low.
Since the work was being covered by the dealerships warranty, they went ahead and did a coolant system service, invoice says a 3 step flush. They did a cooling system pressure check to check for leaks to account for the low fluid, but said they did not find any leaks. They topped off the coolant and everything was fine.
Now it’s been a little over a month and I noticed my engine was really hot after driving a short distance. The temp was normal on the dash though. So I check the coolant levels and I couldn’t even see any in there. Definitely nothing past the min mark.
Not sure where to go from here. I’m past my warranty now and don’t really have the cash for a huge shop bill. Any ideas on what I could check or what could be going on?

Check for leaks.
Remove oil cap and look for "chocolate milk shake" (oil mixed with coolant)
Top off the reservoir. See if it goes down again, might have had air in the block during service.
