Newbie needs help on choosing colors...Chili red with ?

Hi ya'll. I just ordered my 05 MCS with JCW, yet I'm having trouble settling on the color choices. I initially went with Chili red with red roof and mirrors, white bonnet stripes. However, the wife likes the Chili red with a white roof and mirrors.

What I'm searching for is anyone with a MCS that has both Chili red and a red roof and red mirrors. If you can, can you please send me pictures of your MCS? I would be most appreciative. I know what hardware I want, just the color is the hardest part.

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to NAM Nozz CR/CR is pretty rare (all solid color Coopers are) so you have that angle. CR/W is much more popular, so U have that one. Why not CR with a black roof? That's what I ended up with, and it's rockin' my socks off with a big grin:

Gonna update the site soon here. Again, WLCM2NAM Jimbo

Can't remember how things are south of the border, but up here in Canada there's only the choice of black or white mirrors........or at least when I ordered my MCS in '02. But in my opinion I'd stay with your initial plan of all red. Red and white seems all too popular. But I thinks the red mirrors may be a little much, and would go with black. But hey, it's your car.
Cheers,

Two tone no question. Theres a reason the base MINI Ones (which we dont get here) are only 1 colour.

I say Red and White. With stripes!

I got my mini in CR/B and plan to add black wheels and black stripes to complete the look. This color combo is very rare while I live I have only seen one other one ever in the area.

Saw an 05 CR/CR with red mirrors and full aero kit recently and it looked very nice, although it's definitely a statement.

The advanced members search on Mini2 is great for checking out configurations prior to ordering. Pics galore and no need for the apb!

Here are a couple of galleries to get you started:

The "help me pick my color" posts are my favorite. Color is such a personal choice. That being said, if it were me, I would get the CR/W. HOWEVER, like someone before me said, that is THE most popular combo on MC & MCS. My second choice would be CR/B - that's just hot hot hot. My last choice would be the CR/CR, BUT, and this is a big BUT, yours would be very, very unique. So if you've seen a pic of CR/CR, and you really like it, then go for it! (But I'm not sure how white stripes will look with everythingbeing red)

CR/CR looks very nice, but then again, not getting contrasting roof and mirrors somewhat defeats the purpose of getting a MINI, IMO (This is what sets the MINI apart from other cars).

I currently own a 2004 MCS CR/W with chrome grille, chrome mirror caps and Union Jack Roof Flag. I just ordered a new '05 MCS the same exact way.

I like the black roof but it collects a lot of dust. I would only get a black roof If I added the sunroof.

Personal opinion, I think the white mirror caps stick out too much, so either chrome, black or body color should minimize this effect.

Also, if you are going with a plain white roof (No sunroof) I recommend getting a roof flag decal because it looks too plain to the eye.

Many choices. Right now I am debating whether to stick to my current interior combo (Black leatherette seats and anthracite trim) or switch over to Gray/Black leatherette seats and Chili Red interior trim...

Choices, choices....

you can't go wrong with CR/W with white bonnet stripes. i was going to order an IB/W right up till i walked into the showroom and saw a CR/W. very traditional Mini rally colors. here's a pic of how mine looks to help in the decision.

i think CR/W with a few black accents is really a unique take on the two tone MINI's. my MINI had H-sport springs put on since then, so it's a bit lower than the pic shows. good luck in your decision!

A personal and hard choice to make as you are finding out. We went with CR/W and totally love the contrast...

Chow!

check out my website link in post 2 for the CR interior. I have the anthracite HL and the leather/cloth red/black interior, with the OEM "bling," (to quote a co-worker's 3-year old girl:smile: ) The octagon cloth is tough to keep clean tho.

I think it'd look hot with the grey/black seats. In retrospect I'd put my $800 option in a LSD and save a few bucks. Jimbo

I had this problem. Scratched my head over it for days, then decided that the thing I want is a MINI, and to me, it didn't look _right_ in all one color.

Something about cr/b...

I disagree. For most MINI body colors, the black window pillars set a single-color MINI apart from other cars even without contrasting roof and mirrors. It's a more subtle approach, but still very sharp. With racing stripes forget the subtle, which leaves just the sharp...

It is all in the eye of the beholder...

Like I said, I think a CR/CR MCS looks very nice, likewise a VR/VR Cooper is extremely rare (I have only seen one in 3 years).

But for me, contrasting roof is more in tune with the MINI heritage, but that's me.

Cr/cr

We ordered our mini in CR/CR with CR mirrors. Had considered the black roof and mirrors prior to ordering but I've always liked red cars. This combo reminded me of a past 1972 911 I had. The chrome headlight rings and bright red paint are amazing.

It always gets comments when parked and you see heads turn as you drive, just like the 911 did. Its good fun.

I haven't seen one like it around. We ordered the CR interior with chrome pkg. and its also quite striking. The only other option ordered was the MFSW so its about as light as they get.

Whatever you order, the car is a blast to drive. It really reminds me of driving the G series 911s and newer, but much easier to live with. The heater smells much better too.

Thanks for your inputs and pictures, though I've yet to see a truly CR/CR Mini. I had thought about a CR/W MCS JCW, but with Union Jack mirrors. IMHO, I though the white mirrors stood out too much, though it is classic.

Does anyone have a CR/W with Union Jack mirrors? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

I have the Union Jack roof flag and chrome mirror caps. I think it is a bit too much to have UJ mirror caps in addition to the UJ roof sticker, but that's me.

I also have the UJ themed tire valve stem caps and a metal UJ/checkboard plaque in the back of the car.

Bueller? Bueller?
