Does anyone know if the 2023 Hatch Basic Will ever be made ?

to my understanding from several dealers, I get conflicting info.
one says, Mini is only producing the E, S, JCW…the Basic Mini MIGHT be made early next year ? The other dealer today told me that the Hatch Basic is Finished ?

i read this online news about the 2023 Mini….

“This issue has been compounded by the Russia/Ukraine crisis, which is restricting the supply of wiring harness produced in factories in Ukraine.”

“The ‘6 speed manual’ transmission has not been deleted from our product offer, however clients wanting to order a vehicle with this specification, will be looking at a production date early next year.” “We expect the situation to improve by early next year, possibly sooner.”

Does anyone know what the real story is that they can shed the light on my question ?

I’ve not heard of any restrictions on the Cooper model in the U.S. Perhaps manual transmissions are on hiatus at the moment, not sure, but I have not heard that you can’t order a Cooper model. Things may be different outside the U.S., however. Your best bet is to just ask your Motoring Advisor.

 

I ordered a 6-speed manual MCS in early June, which is now in transit. I was told that manuals are available, but that dealers are being allotted a certain number each month. I guess I was one of the lucky ones. It hasn't yet arrived, so we'll see.
