Red & Black Convertible - 6 month review

Back in January of this year (2022), I bought a CPO 2019 (4) cylinder Black on Red convertible with 9,000 miles. My plan was to enjoy it for road trips upstate NY (Adirondack Mountains), New Jersey (Palisades Parkway) and New England states. I am happy to report that so far it's been wonderful.
The convertible top is truly the best of everything. You can open it half way and use it as a sunroof, or all the way for full topless driving. The top is made of very high quality fabric and when closed, the cabin feels very insulated. On hot sunny days (when its too hot to open the top) the a/c works great and keeps everything cool. In the winter, the heater keeps everything toasty. You can drive the Mini convertible year round with no issues. The four cylinder engine - 189hp is a hoot to drive. It feels like a zip-rocket and easily keeps up with everything. I am averaging 28mpg with premium fuel. The interior is very comfortable with plenty of leg room. My right leg does NOT hit the center console and my left leg does NOT hit the door panel. The seats are very supportive and great for long drives. Also, my arm can easily rest on the door sill when the window is down allowing for a nice top down 'cruising' experience. The two cup holders are front and center - right where they belong. The back seats can hold a passenger in a pinch and also fold down for more storage. The run flat tires are great and I have no reason to change them. I got a flat tire once and was very happy that I was easily able to drive home on the run flat with no issues. My 2019 Mini has just enough technology to keep me safe, but not so much to drive me nuts. It also has the option to disable the annoying stop/start feature and leave it off. The USB port works great and plays all of my mp3 files. Overall, the Mini convertible is an excellent car and I highly recommend it if you are in the market for one.
