I have a 2015 4 Door S. It does not have the backup camera or the parking sensors. I was wondering if there is a financially decent way to retrofit either of these either via Mini or aftermarket?

 

I haven't seen a factory retrofit kit. Bimmertech does offer aftermarket upgrades for MINIs and BMWs, based on your VIN.

 

ECS Tuning has a kit for retrofitting PDC sensors for my 2011 Mini Countryman S. They talk about needing to buy the bumper that has the PDC holes in it. Uhm, I have a drill and some masking tape. When the kit gets here, I'll see if that is good enough. I got a used PDC on eBay and can code it with ProTool. So, crossing my fingers that this doesn't go the route of having to buy a new bumper cover just to mount up some sensors. (Can't really see how the PDC bumper mounts up.... if it is just holes or if there is actually something on the backside that holds it. Heck, I'm not above plastic cement or rubberized epoxy if it comes down to it just so I don't have to buy and paint a whole bumper cover.)

 

I have '15 F-56 & Build Sheet says PDC (rear) Have you checked your Build Sheet ? I think EVERYBODY should have 2 things on their Mini, Build Sheet, & VIN # Sheet.as far as PDC or Camera one or the other is good, you don't need both. if I was going to add one, I'd add camera . check by back door handle & see if car is pre-wired, should be. just get camera & add.
