Hello,I just bought my wife a r53 because she’s been wanting one for Christmas. Any recommendations on a good pioneer or Jensen radio for the r53 that has apple carplay? Thanks

 

I’ve picked up a Carpuride unit that I’ve plugged into the Aux input for the stock radio. I am having trouble finding a suitable mountain solution for it though. The CD Slot mount I’ve tried to make work just isn’t sturdy enough. Have worked on it quite a bit over a weekend and just can’t get a solution built yet……back to the drawing board.

 

I'm curious about this as well... Is there even room to mount the touchscreen at the top of the dash, either mounting an arm to the dash or suction cup to the windshield? Would it be better off just having a solid phone mount instead?

I bought a mini R52, and now waiting from alibaba an android Navi with CarPlay and all features
only one system like this available for our cars
do not have the round design like the newer minis
but the screen is bigger and more functional

I will show when mounted

 

The Pioneer AVH-3500NEX will fit in a MINI, replacing the stock receiver, and it does support both Apple CarPlay and Android phone pairing.

Note: In a R53 (like mine), it does block your view of the fuel gauge when the screen is un-folded, but you can push a button on the unit to close the screen while it continues (audible) navigation or audio if you need to do a fuel-check.
