Drivetrain OBD Tuning with just Android or PC?
OBD Tuning with just Android or PC?
Hello all,
I am new here and I just wanted to ask something about OBD Tuning.
I read here a bit about the OBD Tuning solutions we have, but I asked myself, why cannot we just remap or tune the car with an Android phone or PC?
I have an N14 Cooper S EU Spec (I am from Europe) and wanted to raise the power a little bit, without any big mods and throwing out any big amount of money(softtuning with no/minimal hardware mods).
Here where I live just a Chiptuning Stage 1 costs around 800-1200€ alone...
I saw that there are tools like Accessport etc. but why do we need them, when we already have very good and smart devices like a modern Mobile phone with Android/iOS or PC.
Is there a theoretically way to remap the car with just BMW Tools, K+DCAN cable, Bluetooth adapter with a phone or another Software or is it a must have to use something like Accessport or SPS switcher
I know the second part/issue would be getting any maps for the car so we could just flash them, especially for the EU Version of the Cooper S, but currently this is a different story.
Any advices from you all about this topic?
Edit: Afaik Revo SPS is the "new" Accessport. Can I just use it on a stock Cooper S or do I first have to flash/map my ECU at the tuner?
Is there even a way to check, if someone in thr past did something with my ECU?

Yes, there are limited Chiptuning options are available. It's recommended you contact an authorized dealer for more clarification.
