Radiator Support Service Position

Started dissambly to look into changing the head gasket after finding all my coolant in the oil pan. The Bently manual gives instructions to get the radiator in the servce position that doesn't tell the hole story. Has anyone else noticed this, and could you help?

Well, got that done & the exhaust manifold/cat off. Should I expect a warped head, of do the head gaskets blow out even with a good head. I found major carbon build up in the exhaust ports~
