2009 Convertible Roof Issue

All of a sudden the roof when down does not want to go back up. When the button is push you can hear the mechanism engage. If my wife grabs a corner and gives it a little help, the roof will pop right up. Strange as at first I thought something was stuck but happens continually now. Just an FYI - the car sat unused for 6 months but not sure that has anything to do with the problem.

Thanks

Maybe the joints are sticking and need grease, those are the scissor joints. Or you have a weak battery, That can do it also.

+1 on the scissor joint lube on a regular basis. They'll tell you when with an annoying squeak. To prevent crud build up use a dry lube like Liquid Wrench. Go with a battery check as well.
