Roof Rack on MCS 2012?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a 2012 MINI Countryman S roof rack that doesn't cost $500? I have the cargo from a friend but need to outfit the rails with a rack that isn't obscenely priced.

Much Appreciated,

Chris

Find a used one for sale if you want to stay well south of $500.

I have been keeping an eye out for one but no luck so far. I was wondering if anyone had any luck with any of the non-OEM or Thule models out there.

i had a rhino rack box living on the OE crossbars for about 8 years full time with no issues at all. i actually preferred the OE cross bars since they didn't extend beyond the gutters.

Second the OE cross bars. They work incredibly well. I use them with a Yakima Rocketbox 14 and ... other things.

It's pretty amazing the amount of lumber you can load onto the racks. I try not to ask questions like "can it support this load?" but I'm always impressed. The hard part is hefting a 60 lb 2x12 over your head to get it on the roof.

Rails are under $250 if you shop around.

Yeah, the OEM ones are excellent. I see them on craigslist every now and then for $100-$200 - They are thule rebranded. (based on the fact that I swapped out all my lock cores to the same thing)

I've got a huge yakima box up there for the winter and when camping.
2 Bike racks during the summer on top of the 2 hanging off the back. its amazing how much you can cram into and onto this car
