Interchangeable Parts? (e.g. R56)

I was wondering how many parts are interchangeable on our cars with other models whether they are newer or older.

I read that the intercooler from an r56 can be used on my 2013 R60S.

It's funny because you can get an r56 one sometimes cheaper.

That being said it could mean other parts would be cheaper, too.

Basically just looking to see if anybody knows of any other aftermarket parts that might fit from other models. Performance or aesthetics welcome.

Basically everything aftermarket parts wise is interchangeable when it comes to the engine. What you're looking for is N14/N18 engine parts.

R56 had the N14 engine until around 2010, then 2011+ they started to run the N18 engine. The N18 engine is what is in the R60.

Exterior wise, almost nothing is interchangeable. Not even the wheels.

Go to realoem.com and plug in your last 7 vin digits. Every part listed will cross reference to what cars they fit on.

So basically it's all good if I were to get let's say an R56 intake or exhaust?

Super helpful - had to click the part number to see - didn't realize that at first.

So then this can help me identify stock parts - I'm talking aftermarket

Downpipes yes (same engine/ turbo), but the exhaust will not fit. The R60 is a completely different size than the R56.

Basically anything that directly attaches to the engine, turbo, intake is for the most part going to be shared.

Most websites will be very clear about that when you look for parts.
