Transmission Shifting Problem (Automatic) P0734 Help Appreciated
Hi there,
First off, thanks to all the people that make this forum available and manage it. That is awesome and takes a ton of work.
Straight into it.
2006 Mini Cooper S w/ 85,000 miles. I was gifted it due to it having "transmission problems". I got in it and drove it and it seemed to drive fine, but then after driving a bit I realized that when at 20-30% throttle it would have trouble shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. Sometimes it would just completely drop off and redline the engine, and other times it would clunk into fourth hard.
Ways to get it to shift--
Driving full throttle
Using the sport shifter
Backing off the throttle
Threw a PENDING code for P0734 (Gear 4 Incorrect Ratio)
My question to all you Guru's is:
Can I replace that one shift solenoid? Does anyone have one they can send? What should I be looking for? I already changed the fluid with 4 new quarts and it didn't seem burnt badly. No metal shavings etc.
Tips and tricks greatly appreciated.
