Frozen Door Handles

Any cold weather friends have tips for iced/frozen door handles. Yesterday had to roll the window down in order to get out of the car and this morning I couldn't get either door open and had to drive our POS van. Is there anything I can apply or do the night before a storm to help, other than stringing out the extension cord and using the heat gun...😄.

Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions.

Shoot a little wd40 in the jam between the handle and the grip, that helps keep the water out.
