2020 CTM JCW License Plate Holder

This is a long shot, but I don't want to drill holes in the front bumper of my wife's new ride...for her 2017 JCW, we used a tow hook plate mount...it is just a tad short for the CTM, anyone using one on a CTM and if so, what brand?

TIA
Wes

i opted to go the Cravenspeed Platypus mount. of course, i don't have my Clyde yet to mount but have heard good things about them.

I went with Grimmspeed based on the design, I have heard great things about both product (Platypus & GS), I just don't need the quick release.

I used the Cravenspeed one. it has an extension and an offset, but it would set off my front parking sensors. It looked great, but the beeping was driving me crazy.

I live in Texas and we are required to have two plates. I have avoided front plate drilling in my vehicles for a long time. In fact the front plate in my Abarth is sitting in the front window with suction cups. But, I decided screw it, the Countryman looks fine with a front plate because of it being slightly down on the bumper and it doesn't retract from the looks. Especially on a JCW because your eyes focus on Red in the Grill, the cool looking headlights, and of course the power bulge hood. Even looking down at the plate mount your focus goes to the intercooler/brake ducting vents. IMHO the plate where it belongs looks much better than offset to one side and to me that would be a bigger eye sore and stand out more. I wouldn't leave the dealership with mine until they put the mount on. But, to each their own. There actually are two indents in the front bumper already anyway, which is a guide to put the holes in the correct place for perfect plate placement.
I do have the luxury in Texas to get a Black plate though, so that helps.

Oh totally agree that the license plate centered looks better, just wanted a no holes mount...skene is probably the direction we are going...My wife's JCW (yet to be named...) has the center stripe, not the two on the hood...

where are the front sensors? i was wondering about that too and if it would affect/block them w/the CS one. i may end up just have the dealership do a normal front mount.

They are in the top corners of the bottom grill...right in the corners.

@seamonkey420 actually it was a mistake when they ordered the car...we asked to get the sport stripes (the two on the hood and doors)...they ordered something else (not sure what)...but this came...no door stripes. They ordered and put on the door stripes at the dealership...the wife was pretty stoked about it...I will take some pics once the weather clears up (East coast rain). We also de-badged the rear (took off the dealer and JCW badge) and it looks super clean. All in all, it was a great mistake.

Wes - Did they put the matching stripe on the boot as well. I’ve been debating the center stripe vs the dual stripes and would like to see what the boot looks like with stripes.

was wondering the same too! i really really like the classic single center strip w/accents. prob what i'll go with if i can also do the roof/moon roofs and rear.

Well, after running through about 4 different plate holders, I settle for (sort of) a SLYBrackets Mesh Grill plate holder. Super fast shipping, quality product, I am happy.

https://www.slybrackets.com/store/

I did however make a modification (I used an old backing plate that has 4 screws to hold the license plate verses the frame they provided. I did this just because I had it...Very pleased with this product.

This is the frame bracket...the "studs" have adjustable width, but this really worked well.

Cannibalized plate bracket from my tow hook mount.

It's clipping the corner of the sensor

This is what it would register and beep at me

This is just a picture of my car to show off!

I returned the offset frame, and went with the normal dealer installed one. Looks better overall IMO

Yeah...we decided to keep the symmetry of the car in the center and thought it just looked better...just didn't want to drill a hole in the bumper.

I felt the same way especially when I saw the 2 dimples on the bumper which I assume is for the stock license plate frame. I like it better in the middle too!
