R53 cuts out at high RPM

Interesting issue. Today I decided to open up Kermit and drive it harder than normal. Pulled hard felt great until very close to redline. What I found was the radio cutout and dash lights came on for all but a fraction of a second. No check engine light. Car has a new crank sensor, cam sensor alternator etc. Mods are 2% ati, M7 intake, super sprint header, 80 degree thermostat and Spec lightened flywheel. Other than that engine internals untouched. Kermit is an 03’ JCW. Smooth idle no issues. Any thoughts?

Interesting. I just replaced it with a rebuilt unit. I believe t was a AC Delco rebuild. I have a scan gauge perhaps I should record the alternator readings as I approach redline.

Alternator was indeed the cause. I found it over charging at high rpm. Thank you for the direction
