What speed / HP performance mods have you found the best

Hi All

Interested to see real performance increases on my 2011 R60 All4 Countryman,
What i have heard
K&N Typhoon Induction Kit fits Mini Cooper S 1.6L 2011-15 - No / Minimal gains, sounds cool though
Performance exhaust: Need turbo back rather than cat back system for more gains
Racechip from https://www.racechip.de/chiptuning/racechip-gts.html ?? looks impressive and claims are decent..

Any other mods that would be suitable : Bang for buck?
This is my beasty:

Bang for the Buck the ECU tune is the best bang for the buck.

The piggy back tunes don't work well as the ECU learns over them over time.

The open intakes just suck in hot air from the engine compartment, so they end up loosing power.

Then an intercooler would be the next bang for the buck mod as it will actually cool the intake temps to help make more power like the goal of an intake.

Blocked out of the USA as they don't want to ship out of country. Too much hassle.

Basically what rotaryferreira said. Do some, or do it all.

Here are some basics "must-haves" for improving power delivery:
  • Bigger Intercooler
  • 2.5" catless downpipe
  • ECU re-map
If you want to step it up some more do any, or all, of the following:
  • Full custom 2.5" exhaust system
  • Water/meth injection
  • Hybrid Turbo

Don't waste your money on aftermarket intakes, the stock one is better than anything you'll pay for.

This is my car, basically everything on those lists except for W/M injection. I run a 3" DP/exhaust system and a custom Mk. 43-LTN turbo

My car runs like this...

Exhaust

Gas milage

Test pull (filmed in Mexico)
