Magazines are becoming a thing of the past, sad to me, but electronic media has taken over. Sadly, you don't get a printed record in most cases anymore!

Yeah,
I'm an old dude too and I love print media --- longtime bibliomaniac with stacks of books, and I also love magazines as they often capture the contemporaneous snapshot of a given time in more ways than one.
I've scrounged around and've found a good number of back issues of MC2 magazine, and actually tried to subscribe, but despite taking my money I've never received anything from them outside of the old copies I bought at the same time I tried to subscribe.
There's a cool zine from the UK which used to be called Modern MINI but they changed it to Performance MINI --- it's really good.
I may end up subscribing to it as the price ain't too bad especially for USA delivery.
I've bought a pile of back issues from them:

Anyway,
I just wanted to give a headsup about the new issue of Evo if anyone may be interested since it has some cool GP1 coverage.
And speaking of the GP,
I recently got myself a copy of MINI DESIGN past present future ...
https://libraryofmotoring.info/2009/12/04/book-mini-design/
...and it is indeed an oversized magnum opus, reminding me of a high-end art book. Text is in German except for an interesting interview with Tony Hunter inwhich one of the neat details revealed is how the typeface for the gauges was inspired by the old Thunderbirds tv show.

So,
here's some nifty illos & images from the book concerning the GP:

A bit more evo related stuff:
Interesting to read the debut review:
https://www.evo.co.uk/mini/mini/6424...cooper-s-works
And,
this video is pretty entertaining!

Whoever edited final copy made a mistake and showed the motors vice versa as the Tritec is depicted as in the GP2,
and the N18 in the GP1.
I loved hearing the giddy giggles in the closing moments of the final lap,
they were really having some fun!
