Stripes on top of clear bra (half hood)

Hi all. I'm going to add some OEM bonnet stripes but noticed that the prior owner added the clear bra to the front of the car and only half of the hood. So there is a visible line across the hood where the clear bra ends (a little past the scoop).

It's probably a non issue but wondering if you would have any concerns of whether the stripe could develop a wrinkle or just look a little off at the point where the clear bra ends?

thanks.

Never seen that but i have seen ghosting on the stripes once removed. On the clear bra i have seen faint ghosting but it was after like 10 year. make sure you use UV protect wax and it helps reduce the fade.

As the owner of vehicles with paint protection film. Attempting to place the stripes over the film thickness will cause installation issues attempting to bridge the gap between the paint surface height and the additional thickness of the paint protection film.

The proper way to do it would be remove the paint protection film, apply stripes and then apply the paint protection film over the stripes. An installer that's competent would be able to with the use of a heat gun and installation squeegee get the film the lay properly over the stripes. A pre-cut piece of film for the front hood will run $70 to $150 typically.

The issue will then be if you want to remove the paint protection film, not removing the stripes will be difficult or uncertain with the adhesive of the paint protection film. Some film vendors even state to not apply film to non-OEM paint.

Either way you got about it there's going to be some risk involved or introduced.

Another alternative if you can find an installer with talent would be to take the single piece hood film and cut it into three pieces covering only the paint on either side of the stripes. Paint protection film can be stretched quite a bit to get an exacting fit for that perfect installation.
