JCW GarageInterested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 2nd Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs are discussed.
When I start up the engine, after a few seconds there is this knee-naw, knee-naw, knee-naw type "warning/alarm" coming from the inside. Sounds like one of those irritating car alarms, BUT it is from the inside and not that loud. Lasts about 10 seconds, then stops. No indicator lights, no messages, no issues, no problems. If I stop the engine and start it again, there is NO alarm.

Now that's just strange. Did you get his used? Can you post a video?
Thanks for replying. Just purchased a 2107 JCW hatchback w only 9K miles. Super nice, lots of extras. I did take a video but I am not super tech-savy. I tried to email it to myself, but file too large. I will hook up with a buddy who might be able to help. The sound is almost-whistle like 2 tone.
There are a couple of things to do to address file size. In doing a video, shorter durations will make for smaller files. Also, you may record only the audio. That may be the best choice as it seems like the visual part would not add anything.
However, your MINI is a 3rd Generation, not a 2nd Generation. There is a JCW Garage area in the 3rd Generation section. That’s where your questions should be posted. The 2nd and 3rd Generation engines are different.
