2013 MCS midmuffler/resonator delete repalcement pipe

anyone have any idea what size I.D. pipe i need to get to replace the resonator i plan on cutting out under the middle of my '13 MCS R56 N18.
the plan was to cut the resonator out and slide a piece over the top of the existing pipe (existing pipe will fit inside the replacement piece) and then i'll just clamp it on.
logic would state i should slide the engine side over the existing, and the muffler side inside the existing, but i dont have an expander. and dont feel like buying one to do a 10 minute stretch job.
so i could use muffler putty/cement, to prevent leaks.
so what size would slide over the existing.pipe?
if i am reading correctly currently its a 2.5" ID pipe but i cant readily find the OD so i know what size ID to buy so it snug but not loose.
yes i may jsut take it some where and pay a place to stretch it, not sure yet, just some planing ahead.
i'll lay under it when the weather permits with my caliper i dont care just figured i would post so others may find an answer too.

From what I've seen with my own exhaust it's like 2.125" OD. I bought this pipe https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it slides over top of my stock exhaust with about 1mm of gap all the way around
