R50/53 P1688 - water pump now or later?
P1688 - water pump now or later?
Threw a P1688 today and went into limp mode after a noticeable hiccup at steady highway speeds. So, I’m fairly certain I need a new harmonic balancer and will be ordering the ATI Super Damper from WMW in a second. What else should I consider at the time? Definitively replacing the crank seal, and the belt. Should I also do the water pump now, or can that (should it) wait, knowing I’ve got a supercharger to replace sometime in the future? Is there anything else that should be handled simultaneously? 81k on a 2006 JCW.
I've answered my own question about the water pump. Since it's not belt driven, I'll let it go until I do the supercharger. Is there anything else, though, I should do while handling the crankshaft pulley?
