We should keep this thread specifically for M2C2 organizing convoy to Ohio in the Spring 2005. I would have to guess the park opens on April 9 since their website shows being closed until 4/8.

There was a thread about the IJ coaster on MINIUSA, there's a girl who works at KI who drives a MINI who was going to try and organize something with the MINI dealer in Cincy (Free or discount admission or first ride for MINI owners or something of the sorts)... That was the last I heard of it...

I am also interested in this. Sounds fun I don't usually "do" roller coasters but the drive up would be great anyway.

It's 420 miles from Greenville to Cincy. Best I've done is 6 hours (not in a MINI ) KY has a 60 or 65 mph speed limit.. There's a 30 mile stretch in TN that has a 70 mph speed limit..

 

That looks like a hoot! My wife would never get off that.

Actually, Ed that was queenB posting and not hotelcalif. I did not notice he was logged in before posting and you can't delete a post. Where hotel goes queenB is sure to follow or vice versa. There may be more Smoky Mountain MINIs in the caravan too.:smile: Just wish we could get some dates. I am planning on some track days early.

 

Ahh, MINI partners!! I'll learn one of these days!

 

Partners for over 30 years in the MiNi department. He had his Mini when we were in high school together. I'll be watching your planning to coordinate into the caravan. I think it will be great fun.

 

Would East Town Mall be a good place to meet? We'd be coming across I-40 to I-640 to I-75 north...

 

Let me think about that one a bit. It is definetely not an easy off-easy on there but plenty of parking/meeting space. Let me check around on our members and see who else might be going along. It's possible somewhere on up I-75 would be better.

 

Just viewed the video!!! I'm definitely in. I've penciled in the weekend of April 8th. This looks like it will be a blast .

Sorry to poke my nose in your thread, but I wouldn't count on the ride opening the same day as the park. I would guess sometime in May or June when they open during the week as well so they can make a bigger deal of it. That's what they usually do with new rides. Unfortunately, at this point its kind of hard to plan as they haven't released these details yet

 

I think you are right about this. We are just all anxiously awaiting the actual date to put it on our busy MINI calendars:smile:

Count me in. But I won't ride the roller coaster cuz they make me really, REALLY sick . I'll be the designated wallet and purse holder (no babies, please )

 

I'm just asking cuz I haven't heard anything about this in a while. Anyone heard any news, updates about this????? Has anyone actually called Kings Island to find out when this freakin thing's going to open!!!! Don't want to let this get too far off our radar screens.
