XM Receiver Placement

Yes yes... I promise that I've looked at TONS of other XM threads, but I didn't find anything addressing my particular conundrum.

Placement.

Specifically, I'd like to place the cradle (standard one that comes with the SkyFi2 car kit) on the little plastic "wall" behind the cup holders -- between the two pillars, immediately below the toggles. So, looking at that area you have: cupholders, then cigarette lighter, then a bit o' carpet, then a vertical plastic surface. I want to stick the cradle to that plastic surface. I've seen some pics that *look* like they *might* be attached to that vertical surface, but I couldn't tell if they really were. If anyone has theirs there, can the receiver be easily removed and replaced? I like being able to carry my receiver about and listen wherever I like, so I don't want to place it anywhere that would make that impossible.

If I can't put it there, I was thinking of placing it to the left of the steering column, and I was just wondering if anyone with that placement found it too obtrusive -- and were there any problems with the unit interfering with airflow from the vent?

Thanks, guys! I'm getting impatient and am about to go out and perform a crash course install, but I'd like to get some feedback, first.
