I'll be there.
Are we going to discuss the by-laws for the club? These were briefly talked about at the last meeting. If we are, would it be possible to email them out beforehand to all the club members? It could save some time and discussion if the members had a chance to familiarise themselves with them.

Neither President Kevin nor I will be able to attend the December meeting due to scheduling conflicts, but this will be a grand time for m2c2 members to discuss club-related issues. We'll get the proposed bylaws out in electronic form before the meeting; that could be one item for discussion. I hope so, for the re are some bylaw issues that your board could use some help on.
I hope someone will be taking good notes of the meeting and the suggestions; any volunteers? (C'mon; who of you has wanted to be a newspaper reporter, the next Bernstein or Woodward? This is your opportunty to try it out!) Otherwise, what's said may well be lost before it gets to all club members.
This will be an informal meeting, moderated by Charlotte Chapter Vice President George Kail. You won't have to adhere to an agenda, Roberts Rules of Order or any rules, other than to be nice to one another. And you'll not have to make any big, final decisions; voting should be done in such a way that everyone in the club gets a voice, not just those who attend the meetings.
These quarterly meetings can be important for members to get to know one another. They are also a good place for face-to-face discussion, rather than over the Internet. So come, if possible, and join in the discussion. And have fun; don't forget to have fun.

Well, I was planning to attend, but.....given that the President and Vice-President won't be attending.....
I am not sure at this point that I really understand exactly why this is happening as a "quarterly meeting".....so I think I will skip this one, maybe try and get the Midlands MINIacs together the same day......see what we can come up with.....

Because two people do not make up a club. The entire membership does. The roving quarterly idea was presented and enough interest by the club members on line was exhibited to try doing them. This first one was put together in a hurry. Unfortunately, it caught some people by surprise and there were a few scheduling conflicts.
Though it can't be an "official" meeting, it's still going to be a club function. We may not be able to vote on anything, but we can still talk over a lot of things and brainstorm some ideas. As Lee said, we're supposed to have copies of the bylaws. We can go over these and put together a list of any changes we'd like to try and incorporate into them. Also, a few of us were thinking maybe you'd like to host the March get-together/meeting in Columbia. We'd like to hear your, and everyone else's, thoughts on that.
Besides, that MINI won't get filled with toys for the kids if people don't come and show their support!

Mick, we're trying to designate some meetings -- one per quarter -- as places where we all can get together to discuss club business, in addition to discussions at other meetings or in on-line forums. The club is more than drives in the mountains, autocrosses or detailing clinics; a substantial function of the club is for members to get together to enjoy whatever it is we have in common... and I've noticed that is often more than just the pleasure we take in our cars.
If this is to be a well-run club, once we get the bylaws approved and the club fully functional we shouldn't need to have members vote at meetings. Since any location in the Carolinas is a long drive for a large portion of the membership, if we vote by e-mail everyone gets a voice, not just those whose schedules match the club's or who live close enough to attend.
I hope we'll have meetings each quarter that are of sufficient interest to attract a lot of the club membership. And I hope that there will be time set aside at those meetings for members to discuss club issues. The first official quarterly meeting is in Charlotte, which is pretty centrally located. Columbia is also centrally located: Are you, as Columbia VP, willing to host the Official Spring Quarterly Meeting? Maybe after that we could move on to Asheville, Raleigh, Charleston, etc.
And you're right, Moorlockx: How are we going to fill the MINI with toys if the S.C. chapters don't show up?

Once again, Lee, you've hit the nail on the head..
And fortunately missed my thumb!
I'll be there as a senior officer, and taking notes. This is your club, and we need to hear your ideas, wants and desires..
Tweety, of course we can motorcade to Charlotte together!! And anyone else from the GSP area is welcome to join in..

Good to hear from you. The Brazas Grill is a great place to eat.
Debiw and I have just this passed Sunday agreed on a place to eat, just had not posted yet. We have decided on a Mexican place called Azetec. It has plenty of room for us inside and our MINIs outside. Most full dinner items are $7.00 to $10.00 with some American food and several vegetarian dishes. We were trying to find a location that was east of the dealership and on our way to I485.
Thanks for the idea and hope to see you at the meeting.

Because I have too much to talk about on this thread that would eventually lead to it being knocked completely off topic, I'll keep my comments short.
You're welcome!
I will not be able to attend this meeting because of my car STILL being out of service at the present and being held under the knife (or torch, if you prefer) as we develop a prototype header and exhaust for the MCS during the better part of December and January.
I am interested in hosting a March 05 event for the club.
I have also spoken to Max at Century about getting together to have a booth set up for the Dragon 05, as my last semester of torture at Clemson University permits.
I do not have anything else. Thank you for your time.
