How much to replace rear struts and springs

What do you think a reasonable price is for replacing rear struts and springs?

Do it yourself, and it will only cost you for the parts. It’s three bolts, and the assembly drops right out.

Be careful with the big bottom bolt for
the strut as these later models have
aluminum trailing arms and it is easier
to strip the threads than on the steel
arms of the gen 1 MINIS.

The MINI was in for a replacement of the front control arm that was missed in a warranty claim - so I just asked him to do the rear thinking it would be quick and cheap.

I got the bill for 960.00!!! It made me sick.

He charged 2 hours labor for the struts and springs. I think it's an hour job.

He DID strip the damn aluminum trailing arm - and guess what? He charged me for a replacement arm and bolt and for the labor to swap it out (2.4 hours.)
