Hey guys, loving my MCS except the crappy seats (those are my seats)
I live in Israel and it is extremely difficult to import the Recaro seats (will probably cost around 20K, the car itself worth around 80K)
I found someone with the JCW Recaro seats in great condition which is willing to trade with me for my seats for 5K (around 6-7% of the car value)
I wonder if it worth it.
If it does, how easy it is to replace the seats?
I really hate my seats to the point Im thinking about replacing the car because of them
If you really hate the stock seats then I think you answered your own question...and yes you are getting a good value. Go ahead, why be driving in something without getting as much enjoyment out of it as you can.
The Recaros are going to give you much better support when cornering hard. Many feel that there is a trade-off between long-distance comfort and support. Another concern is that some feel that they aren't a great fit for larger people. I put some non-Recaro seats out of an early 2014 S into my R56 and they're a great compromise - long distance comfort and good support for autocrossing.
If you intend to keep the car for awhile, changing seats might be a good decision.
Those ones above are the US style recaros ( but used in other areas in the world), The Euro factory recaros (aftermarket no JCW logo) are the ones most people want. Have you tried them? Should be a bunch over there,
I got the "factory" Recaros in my (new) 2014 JCW Coupe and they are great. They have lumbar support too. Don't show any wear after over 4 years either. They are heated and cost $2700 extra. Alcantara leather.
