Any Idea What This Part Is ?

It fell on the floor on the passenger side. All I can find out from the part number is that it’s part of (many) BMW glove compartments.

RealOEM calls it a glove box damper. Does the glove box open and close normally or is there no soft open anymore?

Yes thats exactly what happened and the light stopped working as well. Mini of Freeport told me that I needed a new glove box and replaced the entire box today. Seems odd for a single part.
