Bought a wrecked r60 need some advice..

Hi Guys I'm new to the mini world. I just picked up a wrecked 2011 countryman S All4 with 116,000 miles on it. I plan to fix up the car but i'm looking for a little advice.

The car has some body damage but the main problem i'm having is with the clutch failing to disengage. it drags enough were you will continue to move even with the clutch pedal depressed. I originally thought master/slave cylinder but i don't see any evidence of leaks and after reading up on this i'm seeing these had some problems with throw-out bearing issues. Is there anyway to confirm this without tearing the entire thing apart? If i do need to replace the clutch assembly what do you recommend? Also I can do all the work myself but if there was a write up on it somewhere that would be great..

Finally I'm in need of a front bumper, drivers side fender flare and drivers side headlight. The lower control arms for the rear suspension look to have some slight damage as well. If anyone knows of a good place to pick these up i'd appreciate it! The car does have a salvage title so i don't want to spend a fortune on the parts.

Thanks
jeff

Clutch failures on early MINI Countryman models was a regular feature of those cars along with failed High Pressure Fuel Pumps, failed turbos and thermostat housings/water pumps. Ebay or local wrecking yards are options for parts and your local MINI Car club is always a good idea too.

If you're new to the MINI world, you will need to do some research and reading to get up to speed with the numerous issues they can have. You have your work cut out for you, best of luck!

If you use Facebook there is a Countryman Owner Group you should join. One of the members just had a close encounter with a coyote and wrecked their car. Cosmetic parts are a wash, but the mechanical bits should still be good as it was a low mileage MCS R60.
