I just bought a used 2012 mini Cooper S (6 speed manual, 90k miles) and noticed that if I have the brake pedal pressed down when i start the engine, it make a short grinding noise. Doesn't do it every time.... Maybe 30% of the time.
Should I be concerned about that? What might the cause be?

I saw that post and didn't think it was quite the same as my issue. The grinding only happens when the brake is pressed. And so far, it only happens for a half a second, and not every time.
