M2C2 Charlotte Chapter Detail Clinic 11/20
M2C2 Charlotte Chapter Detail Clinic 11/20
M2C2 Charlotte is hosting its 3rd Detail Clinic. The clinic will be run by Steve Treece of Carolina Shine. Most of you know Steve as the local Zanio distributor. Loren Koski, owner of Import Paint and Body is allowing us to use his shop so that we will be inside. Loren is also an M2C2 member.
We only have room for 14 participants. We are going to open this up to M2C2 members only. If you would like to attend please post here to be added to the list. If we have any room left we will open to non members. To join M2C2 just go to www.m2c2.org.
After the clinic we will drive the 1 mile south to Hendrick MINI for a gathering hosted by Ed Keady, manager of Hendrick MINI. The clinic should end around 3:00pm to 4:00pm. If you would like to join us for the trip to Hendrick all are welcome, just stop by the clinic around 3:00pm.
What: Zaino Clinic
When: 9:00 AM November 20 (Rain or Shine)
Where: Import Paint and Body Shop
6173 E. Independence Blvd.
Charlotte, NC
This is a full participation clinic featuring Zaino Bros' Show Car
Polish. Each participant will learn how to use clay bar on his/her own
car and they apply the appropriate Zaino polish(s). The most cars we can
handle would be 14. Spectators are welcome. Lunch will be provided for
the participants.
You will need to bring the following:
One towel for use while using clay bar
Enough towels to dry the car one time
At least one towel to use with Z-6
At least one towel for polish removal
All of the Zaino products will be available for purchase the day of the
event. If you haven't used Zaino before, you should expect to spend $70
to $80 dollars depending on whether you have a light colored car or a
dark one.
Also available are micro fiber towels manufactured by DF Towel. The
fabric for these towels is made in Italy, and shipped to the U.S where
they are made into towels. Zaino has recently endorsed the use of these
with his polish products. These can be pre-washed and available for your
use on Nov 20. Recommended sizes and pricing (this event only):
Medium Small 19.5x19.5 $ 9.95 Regular price:
$ 10.95
Medium 29x16 11.50
12.95
Large 36x20 16.50
18.25
The large towel is great for removing polish, especially when doing
multiple coats in a day. The medium is a tremendous all-around towel to
use with Z-6, on your glass, etc. My recommendation would be for one
large towel and at least two mediums. I think you will find that you use
the medium size often. Anyone wanting these ready for use the day of the
event should e-mail me directly and I'll have them pre-washed and ready
to go. No payment necessary until 11/20. You can read about these at
www.dftowel.com. These are far too nice to use while claying, so bring
something else for that. If you see anything else at the DF Towel web
site that you would like, please let me know at least two weeks in
advance.
Please feel free to call me if you have any questions at all. Also
available from is the 3M Paint Protection Film. Visit my web site at
www.ultrashieldofcharlotte.com for more information.

Trainman,
Claying will not necessarily remove all your Zaino. Think of clay as part of a periodic finish maintenance process. That said, you wouldn't have to clay your car at the clinic unless you wanted to.
Once you clay the car, there is no doubt about whether or not the surface is clean.

Thanks Steve,
I just put on 3 more coats of Z2 in preparation for the Hilton Head Show. Even though it's been a year since I used the clay bar for the first time, the finish still feels smooooooooooth..
Count me in on the detail clinic..

I am with you I clayed my MINI on Saturday and did 3 coats of Z5.
I will be helping others at the clinic and maybe put on 2 more coats of Z5.
I also need more products.
I have added you to the list. Is anyone else from Greenville going to make it?

Sure, bring them, I will be glad to help. My son is also coming and will be helping with my MINI
I just talked to Steve Treece and he was concerned that we did not have more cars signed up yet.
I know we have a lot of members that do not check the wesite. I will be sending out emails to them this week. I would like for us to have 12 cars.

George,
Put me down. I could use some tips from the pros and it's a great time to get a few more coats of Zaino on the MINI. Also, being indoors helps!!
I'll let you know if Sierra will be attending as a spectator or maybe even to help me with our MINI.

George,
Go ahead and add me to the list. I will do my best to be there contingent on travel plans... I'm scheduled to be flying in from TX on Fri. As long as things don't get fouled up, I'll be there.
I already have Zaino products, But need a re-stock on a few things, and pick up some stuff that I haven't tried yet.
Should I bring the product that I already have?

Do I have to use the clay bar?
I all ready have gone through that routine, and don't want to strip off all the Zaino I've all ready applied!!
