Cosworth mini

I was checking out a Cosworth Mini. I had never heard of it. Saw a post on a forum that said that there was both a stage one and stage two.
This car was not a S .
What do you guys know about these cars? How rare are they?
I wonder how the performance compares to a second generation JCW.

It is a 2002. I saw it in Hemings Motor News. Would love to go see it but it is about 5 hours away.
I called the seller and it was a interesting story. I was about ready to be a three Mini family but I am not willing to sell my beloved S2000 and with out that I have no indoor parking.

I saw the other thread from the other forum but it is dated later than 2002 so there is no telling how much changed during that time.

I just love unusual cars like that and had I bought it I would be the only kid on the block with a Cosworth Mini.

Think about all of the formula Fords that Cosworth built components for. They should know a thing or two about 1600cc motors.

I looked at Minis from 2002 until about 3 years ago before I found my JCW Mini. Now every time I turn around I find interesting cars. I need more garage space!

Super rare. Back in the day M7 Tuning (now M7 speed) was offering them. Last time I talked to cosworth they were not doing much with MINIs anymore.

Some info from the past.
