R50/53 price gouging
Perhaps you whiners should by an Omni--you can get those below list, I suspect!! If you want t play, you have to pay. Even with the markup, this is still a great car for the price. We bought ours at Asseal BMW in Monrovia Ca. with just a walk in. We were on our way to the market, my wife saw the car which she has been lusting after for months, fell in love, 4 hours later were driving it home! By theway, Leon (in sales), Tim and Gerry (in Service) and Robbie (in F&I) were all wonderful to deal with. Our experience there was first rate, I highly recommend them. They are a great team.
Why, yes indeed she has let me drive it!! It is so much fun I thought I was on my motorcycle!! Sort of a go-cart with an air conditioner!! The only problem is that big speedometer in the center of the dash makes it really hard to convince her that "we're really not going THAT fast". I think the speedo needs to be about 1" diameter and on the far left side. So, I guess the car isn't perfect after all.
In a previous life, I used to race in SCCA autocross--do you know if that sport still exists??? I'm thinking this car would be a giant blast in that sort of competition.
Later!! Ron

The New England Region SCCA still does tons of autocross...
I raced my VW GTi with them a few times, and am looking forward
to getting the Cooper S out there. Should be a great 'cross car. Hopefully
I'll get delivery before the end of the season...
